This fabulous beaded headdress is very similar to a headdress from Central Asia on page 126 of 'Beadwork a World Guide' by Caroline Crabtree and Pam Stallebrass.
These lengths of plaited woven wool beaded tassels would have been worn by women wanting their hair to look attractive and as a sign of health.
Each braid is 54cm long and to the bottom has 3 beaded sections that divide further into smaller groups of heavily beaded drops.
Listing this item as vintage but could be antique.
Fabulous for the textile collector.
