Antique Victorian c1899 solid silver Chatelaine Purse London Lion hallmark with date letter d leopard's head and Silver Smiths mark stamped to inside frame and can also be found on the outside of the frame including makers mark for Grey & Co. Immaculate condition silver not cleaned with fabulous patina. Ornate Silver RCI initials to centre. Makers Grey & Co (William Grey) also provided silver items for Asprey & Co.
Ornate frame with cherub, flowers etc. plain to the back.
Chatelaine stamped also with hallmarks and makers mark as above and is original to the purse. Silver push button clasp. Black Moire fabric lining. All in all a fabulous purse that apparently was made to order for a debutant to go to a Royal event at the time.
