Rare According to research Gabriel Stalin worked as a designer for Alexander Frères at 31 Rue Mesley, Paris. Piel Frères exhibited their jewellery at the 1900 Paris Exhibition along with other designers such as René Lalique, Emile Gallé and Tiffany and Co. Piel Frères name changed in 1925 to Paul Piel et Fils. Look up Piel Frères and you will find buckles, belts and other fabulous pieces, (Peacock Feather Buckle on Page 178 of Old Jewellery by C. Jeanenne Bell, G.C.). One main design feature used was a Peacock Feather with cobalt blue glass shaped as the eye of the feather. This feature can be seen clearly in the central panel of the bracelet which has 4 cobalt blue glass cabochons with one blue bullet nose glass cabochon to the centre, (Pic. 2) The other two panels are embellished with oval opal glass cabochons and smaller bullet nose cabochons. The intricate cuff shaped gilt metal in three different filigree designs are nothing short of spectacular both in design and beauty! Sliding Pin closure works perfectly. Please email for full condition report.
